ISLS Lisbon 2026 – Single Topic Symposium on Minimally Invasive Advanced Liver Surgery

The International Society of Liver Surgeons (ISLS) invites authors to submit abstracts for poster and/or oral presentation at the ISLS Lisbon 2026 – Single Topic Symposium on "Minimally Invasive Advanced Liver Surgery", taking place on October 9–10, 2026, in Lisbon, Portugal.

A limited number of abstracts will be selected for Oral Presentation. Please read this Call for Abstracts information carefully before accessing the abstract submission platform.

For all categories, submitters are welcome to upload videos to the portal for presentation consideration. Please note that the Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to re-categorize any abstract as deemed appropriate.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts will undergo a peer-review process.

The Abstract Review Committee will assess each abstract based on:

  • Adherence to submission guidelines
  • Scientific merit
  • Originality
  • Clinical relevance
  • Alignment with the symposium topic

Authors of abstracts selected for presentation will be contacted via email and invited to present either an Oral Presentation or E-Poster during the meeting.

 

Submission Method

Abstracts must be submitted online via the official ISLS Lisbon 2026 website only.

 

Language

English

 

Word Limit

Maximum 300 words.

 

Abstract Title

  • Capitalize the first letter of each word.
  • Titles written entirely in capital letters (ALL CAPS) are not permitted.
  • Standard abbreviations and acronyms should be avoided whenever possible.

Author Information

Name

  • Full first name and family name must be provided for all authors.
  • Degrees and titles (MD, PhD, FRCS, etc.) should not be included.
 

Affiliation

Department, Institution, Country

 

Abstract Format

The abstract body should be written in the format of an original scientific article.

 

Required headings:

  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion
 

Pictures, Graphs and Tables

Pictures, graphs and tables are not permitted within the abstract submission.

 

Presentation Types

  • E-Poster Presentation
  • Oral or E-Poster Presentation

The ISLS Lisbon 2026 Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine the final presentation format following review.

 

Abstract Policy

Acknowledgement

Acknowledgement of submission will be sent automatically to both the submitting author and the presenting author by email.

If confirmation is not received, please contact the Symposium Secretariat.

 

Modification

Modifications may be made at any time until the abstract submission deadline.

 

Withdrawal

A written request by email is required for abstract withdrawal.

 

Registration Requirement

At least one author of each accepted abstract must register for the symposium and present the work in person.

Failure to present an accepted abstract may result in its removal from the final scientific programme.

 

Publication

Accepted abstracts may be published in the official symposium materials, website, abstract book and other scientific communications related to the meeting.

Submission of an abstract implies consent for publication and presentation.
